Cities across the country are faced with aging infrastructure and limited funding. The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) realized the need to better understand where their assets were located as well as their condition to help prioritize their work and understand their aging infrastructure. This presentation will focus on their efforts to do a City wide inventory and condition assessments of pavement, curbs, traffic signals, streetlights, sidewalks, ramps, signs, pavement striping and pavement symbols. As well as TPW’s efforts to implement an asset management software solutions. Come learn about their program and some of the lessons they learned along the way.

Elizabeth Young, GISP, is the Business Process Manager for the Transportation Public Works Department at the City of Fort Worth. She has worked with Asset Management for 10 years with a focus on Storm Water, Streets and Traffic assets. In addition, she has 25 years of GIS experience working for both local and federal government.
